Hey all!! Did ya miss me?? I hope you enjoyed the guest post last week. I was reading right along with you! We had a great spring break…and I will share a few favorite pics soon. Here is a final post about the peanuts room. She is loving it!! It has become quite a little hangout…which is what she was wanting. The room is super hard to photograph. I used my panoramic function on my point and shoot to give you the full effect..hopefully.
We tucked her dresser into the closet to save on space…worked out great. I placed a small “tower” shelf system in a tight space by the closet. This holds all her lotions and potions and some towels…etc. The feature wall was so much fun to decorate. I blew up 3 black and white pictures and spray glued them onto canvas. The round mirrors are from kirklands and the “life” print is from TJ Maxx.
The head board was a thrift store find…I painted it with chalkboard and metallic paint. The coverlet was made from a fleece blanket and 2 yards of fabric…more on that soon:)
Just a touch of blush pink…(to make momma happy :)
The perfect place to hang…don’t ya think?!?!
A couple of past post about this space…
Post Update:
As for the paint: I don’t have the specific brand….or color. It was painted several years ago,…however a great place to start would be Benjamin Moore Covington blue (ask for a half strength formula) which is basically half the pigment. Good luck:)
My daughter would like you to know that you can come do her room anytime:) Very pretty!!!
What a great room! The aqua is so pretty with the crisp blk&wht. The room layout is really cool too and it is full of fab stuff. Loving it!
Hi there! New to your blog and love it! This room is amazing, your daughter has to be one happy girl. I have a question for you, where is the tower held from? My daughter has the perfect space in her room for one. Thanks so much!
Hope you had a wonderful Spring Break!
Hi Karen!! The tower is actually 2 cubes shelving units from lowes. The top is attached to the wall to keep it secure. I believe they were $12 each. ;)
This is so nice!! I’m loving the colors and the overall vibe of the room.. I kinda wish I had a room like this when I was a teen!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Emily’s room! You did such a great job of making it chic but still age-appropriate! This room will definitely grow with her into her teen years! Looks great!

Love this room! I am hoping to decorate my room with black and white theme with hot pink! I was wondering where you got that fabulous chair and comforter for the bed? LOVE THEM!! Also what paint brand and color did you use for the walls?
Thanks!! The chair was found at consignment a while ago. I made the comforter …will be posting that soon ;) The color on the wall has been there for about 3 years…and I cannot find the paint can anywhere!! If I do I will let you know ;)
Thank you!!

Just came across your website and I love it! My daughter and I just started planning to redo her room and those are the colors that she has chosen for her room. How did you make the duvet? The has been the hardest thing that we have come across…finding a black and white comforter that she really like. She has a queen bed (which we both found at a garage sale :) ) and I have seen fabric but not sure how to sew it. Also, did you also make the lamp? She has been collecting things the past few months for her room and she has the Eiffel Tower but it would be great to make a lamp from it.
Thanks!
Evelyn
Hi there and welcome!! So happy to have you here! I am doing a post this week about the comforter. I made it from 2 yards of decorator fabric and a fleece blanket. We also have a down comforter under it….so it is actually just a coverlet. For a queen size you could sew a long seam down the middle to create a larger coverlet and use a fleece blanket made for a queen bed as you guide for size. Can’t wait to see how it comes out!

Hi Tracie,
I think you may have answered me already but I can’t find the answer anywhere. What is the name of the color you used for your daughter’s room? It is very pretty.

This is so cute! You have given so many great hints and inspiration. With so many granddaughters I hope to use some of your ideas for Christmas presents for their rooms!
Love the room!! Where did you get the letter bin!? I’m wanting to organize a bit in my kids’ small space and it looks perfect!
Hi…just found your blog and I’m loving it. My daughter and I love this room and the colors. We are already thinking of ideas for her room. Do you have directions for the cork board/ chalk board. I can figure out the cork board part, but what did you use for the chalk board part?
Thanks so much!
