Thrift Store Basket Makeover (#texturedsurface)

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Baskets are a dime a dozen at thrift stores….and many times they look pretty worn down. I had a couple on hand at my house that were ready to make their way to goodwill….but I thought of this easy way to save them and make them look fresh and new again.

My friends at FrogTape® sent over some of their new Textured Tape to try. This kit is perfect for uneven and rough surfaces like my basket. I set out to make it look a bit less blah….and here is what I came up with….

How to:

Tape off a section of your basket that you would like to paint

With a damp rag, go over the seam where you will be painting.

Shake the sealer and change out the tops, brush on sealer (I used a bit too much…only use what you need and spread out the excess)

Let dry 10 minutes

Spray paint your stripe

When paint is dry, cut your fabric to fit the inside.

I bet you won’t pass up another ugly $2 basket again huh!?!  The FrogTape® Textured Surface kit is perfect for all sorts of hard to cover rough surfaces…like stucco. If you have ever wanted to paint a stripe…but have a textured surface to deal with…this is your chance!!  Search hashtag #textturedsurface to see more great ideas!
