I loved this article in a recent Country Living that had the coolest cupcake idea!

It was a regular iced cupcake….like these…
With regular vanilla icing…
But then…something kind of cool and different on the top…so I needed to try it out myself. Here is what I gathered….

I used a 40% coupon at Michael’s for the rolled white fondant. Comes in a package that could do about 24 cupcakes—but I cut off a chunk because I was just doing 4. I iced with the vanilla icing. Then I rolled out the fondant after sprinkling a bit of powdered sugar on the surface.

I used a circle cutter to cut our 4 circles. Fondant will dry out fast…so be ready with your food coloring.

I then used some rubber stamps (one dollar from Michael’s dollar spot) and some Wilton food color (black) and I used some blue. With a q tip I spread the food coloring on the stamp and then on the fondant circle. I think if I were to do it again I would dab on a paper towel first—it kind of ran the first time.

I think when I do this project again I am going to use a stamp that doesn’t have as many lines and detail. But I think they turned out super cute and the possibilities are endless!!
Be inspired to be clever!
