$8 worth of nautical rope from the hardware store…plus a large vase from TJMaxx for $10. This really doesn’t even deserve a post…but heck…maybe you will be inspired to make one too ;) I was inspired by Potterybarn’s current catalog. I love all the roping and sand and beach scenes…dreamy ;) So I set out to create the look (at least the roping part)….for less. I succeeded…and you can too…
I bought 12 feet of manilla rope…for .67 cents a foot. Awesome…They I went to TJMaxx…and spotted this fabulous large vase for 9.99…BOOYAH…Now it’s a party people!
What do you think….$18…looks just as good as $50 + right?!?! Yeap…I think so too ;)
Love it when a plan comes together…
More to come on the big office reveal soon!!!
I need to do this! What a good idea.
Ok, this is way toooooooooo clever. Yes, I needed this tutorial. I see this stuff and just don’t figure it out. Great job, love the look. Hugs, Marty
What a great idea. I just love the price tag too.
Tracie-this is such a great idea & super inexpensive to achieve the look that so many retailers are putting out there for summer! I have a new coffee table I just bought from iKEA with a glass top (http://gillianluce.blogspot.com/2012/05/my-trip-to-maryland.html) and putting some rope like this in one of the squares would look great with my shells & Coastal Living Magazines. :) Thanks for sharing!!
I seen an idea like this on youtube using the nautical rope. The lady bought a lamp from the goodwill and wrapped it all the way up the lamp base with twine and painted a lamp shade with blue and white stripes to make a nautical themed lamp.It was soooo cute.I love your idea!
