Have you signed up to win $50 to For Pete’s Sake!?!?! Seriously awesome prize! Think of all the gifts you could cross off your list!!In case you missed it last week…this was my entry for the Crafting with the Stars Upcycle round. My project came in last place….but I still love it :)
$5 End table= Quilt Holder and Large Tray

This little magazine end table was just cryin for a makeover. I found it at a yard sale for $5 and I knew I could revive it!

I took off the top and sanded it down until it was the color I wanted….showing some bare wood in spots with stain on other spots. I had to sand down the back to be smooth…and so it wouldn’t damage the surface it was placed on. I added 2 kitchen drawer pulls for “holders”. Perfect large solid wood tray!

The other parts of the table became the quilt table we drilled holes in the sides for a support. Technically we use it for our comforter at night time….but whatever :)
We placed a 1 by 2 and attached it with wood screws.

Table top was a piece of pine. I routed the edges. I will show you that is a separate post. So fun!!

So the remaining 2 sides of the original table and created a longer table. Finished off with some staining and poly.

The sides got a “chippy” coat of white paint and then some poly to protect. This would also be perfect for a tight space behind a sofa! Not bad—out of a $5 table!!
