DIY shoe cleaner (how to remove scuff marks on converse)

Okay, so did you all know this little trick and not tell me? I found this on Pinterest and then could not find the source. It basically showed somebody removing smudge marks from the toe and side area of Converse shoes with nail polish remover. I’m in love with my white Converse because they look good with everything even a nice little sundress and I they look so much better when they are clean. The white ones obviously get dirty pretty easily and I’ve had some success with washing them in OxiClean and letting them dry in the sunshine. But the smudges on the plastic areas was not coming off. This little trick took me 5 minutes and made the converse sparkly white again.
