Our Dayton Flyers almost made it into the sweet 16 again…almost. We went to watch them play on Friday in Columbus…they won Friday but lost last night to #3 seed Oklahoma. A pre party sponsored by the University was held before the game. Live band…beer & food. UD Flyers hold a very unique passion about their school and teams. Our kids haven’t seen this kind of passion…until Friday night.

The music was loud…and awesome. Songs from our UD days and everyone is singing and dancing. It was if UD was transported to this venue in Columbus…if just for a few hours. I guess it gave our kids a little taste of why we love this University so much. It is friendly, welcoming, a good time full of laughs…with people you know and people you only have this one thing in common with….Flyer love. #flyernation

Our kids are 15…and in that teenage time when they have a hard time seeing their parents as anything other than the people who tell you to do your homework and clean your room. However, Friday night….I think our kids saw a little bit of what old mom and dad did before they came along. They had a butt load of fun (not to say that we don’t have fun all together…because we totally do…) But I think they saw why we cheer so loud and proud for our Flyers and our school.

Hope you had a restful and fun weekend:) And I hope your team is still in the tournament. We still have our Cats in the game….

I’m hopefully going to be sharing some master bedroom pics and updates this week…and maybe a tasty recipe we tried last week. Have a great Monday friends!!

  1. Traci,

I’ve been reading your website for quite sometime now, but did not know (or hadn’t yet picked up) that you were a UD fan! I lived in Dayton a number of years ago and actually worked at the University of Dayton Research Institute in HR, as well as went to school there for a while. I was also rooting for them as was my brother and sister-in-law who still live in Dayton! Just wanted to say “hi” to a fellow Daytonian!
