I am so thrilled that you guys love the shutter countertops in the bathroom! I really love how they came out. Here is a little background to get you up to speed if you missed any of those post…I recently painted the cabinets…(see this post) and the counters were looking a bit blahhhhh. So I found some really cool shutters for the counter..(see this post)…. I got the shutters home and cleaned them up with a little vinegar and water solution. Here is how I went about cutting a hole in the top for the sink….
You can do this…it really isn’t that hard….
Your sink will come with a paper template. Place that on the shutter (or wood) and be sure it will fit nicely in the center. You also want to measure where your drain pipe comes out from the wall. Mine came out 8.5 inches from the wall….so I was sure to line up the drain so that it was close to 8.5 inches from the back of the counter.
Tape the template down making sure it is even and lined up.
Take a razor blade and cut out sink hole.
After the template was cut out I took a sharpie and made an outline to follow with the jigsaw. First drill a pilot hole large enough for your jigsaw blade to fit into.
Jigsaw around the entire circle making sure to follow the line all the way around.
There you have it! A sink hole! Ready to be installed!!!
