craft kids craft Valentine
I offered to help with my daughters 5th grade Valentine’s party—I am in charge of the activity. What to do with 11 year olds? Something that wasn’t “lame”…and maybe something they would actually enjoy doing and holding onto when they were done.
A t shirt…custom made by them…I call it a “Pat on my Back” t shirt…
Everyone using a different color makes for a colorful shirt ;) I bought 25 hanes size boys large shirts (they were about $6 a package…
They can trace their own hands on the back of the shirt with a sharpie marker (first place a newspaper in between so it doesn’t bleed through..) and write their name above their hands…
or place a baggie in there…just so it doesn’t bleed through…
I will give them each a page of adjectives…all nice words (it is Valentines after all!)
They will use their own marker and go around to each classmates shirt and write one nice adjective on the back….in a sense giving their classmate a “pat on the back”….they will be challenged to not use the same word more then a couple times…that way everyone ends up with a unique one of a kind shirt—to feel good about!
And they are colorful too!
Heat set the marker by placing it in the dryer prior to washing. Sharpie should last—may fade a bit…but it should last fine.
