High School Ring inspirations….

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jostens for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

The junior high school ring ceremony has a long-standing tradition in most American high schools. When Jostens asked me to take a look at their Luxe collection of rings I got to thinking about how this tradition even got started? Apparently it dates back to the late 1800’s. It was a signal of completion of a course of studies…. learn something new day:)

An additional justification for this practice is the rationale that the ring also symbolizes the graduate him/herself: During the wearer’s time in school, he or she focuses on self-development and goals specific to the insular academic environment; upon graduation, the wearer enters the wider world and puts what s/he has learned to work in shaping it. I know that when I was in high school it was a really big deal to me because it was really the first nice piece of jewelry that I ever owned. I vividly remember wanting an aquamarine stone. We were all so excited when we could finally wear them as juniors. Here’s a little throwback picture of me in high school..stylin at the Junior Prom…it’s amazing I could stand up straight with those puffy sleeves….am I right?!?   20141211_214643 My husband still has his high school ring and obviously the tradition continues today. Our kids will be getting high school rings sooner than we both think. I had fun on the Jostens website looking at all the new styles and   class rings by JostensJostens @cleverlyinspired (2)   It is definitely a ring that you can wear forever. I love these monogrammed rope detail the Rings. I kind of want one for myself now. It seems that High School rings have really stepped up since I was in high school. I put a few looks together that my daughter might like some day. Her style is very similar to mine…classic, simple and a little bit unique. I really like that you don’t have to use a stone necessarily it can just be made of white gold or yellow gold and really take you all through life. If you have a child in high school or are going to be looking at high school rings soon I would encourage you to check out Jostens class rings on the Jostens website.

Jostens @cleverlyinspired (1)     I especially like this Luxe collection and I also really like the monogram signet rings. Thinking I might just go back to high school to get one.
