Oh…it’s almost turkey time!!! My most favorite meal of the year! I love to set the scene in my dining room. I came up with something that is a bit out of the box for a decoration this year. I love it because there are SOOOO many possibilities…you will understand when you see what I used. And better yet….FREE….yeap…FREE!! Fist pump in the air….white man’s over bite dance…FREE …woowooo!!!
No…it isn’t a toilet paper roll on the plate….it is a piece of a drapery fabric rod (holder). Spray painted gold….oh the possibilities…am I right or am I right?!?! (think covered in moss…or maybe burlap…or painted silver…or red…or green…ok, you get the drift right?!)
A few fall sprigs make it complete! Just tucked inside. So easy!
One square yard of decorator fabric, cut with pinking shears makes a perfect mini-table cloth…at a very low price!
Napkins over the back of the chair instead of on the table or plate is a nice surprise!
Some candles and fall pine cones just placed by the vases are finishing touches!
Here is how I went about making my plate decor…
I used the miter saw…worked like a charm.
Go and set some table girls! If you do it early…you will enjoy it more and not stress so much :)
Happy Thanksgiving time!

How clever and original. Love it! Love it all!
Next Tues the 15th I'm hosting an everything Thanksgiving linky. Please come by and link up!
Very pretty. I love the things you have hanging on your wall in the background. Very fallish.
Tracie, you are so inventive! I love the way you layered your silvers and golds on your fall table, so elegant! And what a creative idea to make individual "vases" with the decorator rod, so clever! Thank you so much for linking up today!

[…] The corner cabinet was custom built for me by my dad. I am going to move it into my office/craft area. Emily’s twin bed will go on this wall… We painted this room so long ago I no longer have the paint can. My best guess is that this color is a half strength of Ben Moore color Covington Blue (HC 138) That would be a good starting point. Another lovely robin’s egg blue is Wythe Blue which is in my Dining Room. […]
So creative! Great use of the fabric rod! Thanks for linking up to The Talent Scouting Party at WhisperWood Cottage!
