At our lakehouse….we have a perfect spot to watch the sunset. We have always thought it would be a great spot to place a hot tub. We hesitated on spending the money on a brand new large hot tub since we are just there on weekends. When we found a product called spa-in-a-box….after we stopped laughing…we were intrigued. What’s this?? A hot tub you can put together—sign me up!!!
But first we needed a level platform…..DIY project No.1!!!!

Bill “I’m not sure all this wood is going to fit in the truck..”
Me: “oh sure it will, we will just scoot some things around….”

Not much scooting going on in this truck….but we made it work!

Bill built an 8 by 8 frame for the decking…screwing the corners together…

I love my builder so…..

You thought I was joking right….look at the box…see “spa in the box” (technically it’s 2 boxes..just sayin)

We used some cleats to place the cross beams…

After making sure the frame was level (which took the most time because of the fall on the lot) We started to hammer in the cleats to hold the wood.

I love hammering….love me a hammer….I could go on…

Then we (more Bill) screwed in treated wood planks to each of the cross beams. Making sure he was still on the level :)

This picture is so deceiving…it looks unlevel…but it is level….I digress…
Up next the spa in the box…becomes a HOT TUB!!
