I have had more than one person ask me (including my very tech savy bff Melissa)…how do I comment on your blog? I am a huge fan of Google; but with that said I DON”T think they do a very good job at explaining “blogland” and how to use it. So, here is my attempt at helping…I will share what I have learned so far…
Before I blogged I used google for mainly 2 things; searching, and to find an image of something. It is much more than that. Think of Google as sort of the umbrella—with many many items to use under that main umbrella.
Do you see at the very top when you log onto google the menu items? Web, Images, Videos, Map, Shopping…etc….do you see where it says More?
You pull that menu down and you will see Reader. Think of Reader as your very own magazine…filled with blog post that you are interested in. Here is how….
To create a free gmail account you go to the email menu and fill out the necessary information. Everytime you sign into google you will use this username and password. This will allow you to follow the blogs you want to follow and google stores all that information for you in google Reader.
So for example, go to my blog home page… www.cleverlyinspired.com
See where it says on the right panel…Fabulous Friends, Wanna join? Click Follow above the number count…
This box will come up and ask you to sign in, click Google…
It will ask for your username and password. Now you can place comments under the post that you wish to comment on….and you can search for other fabulous blogs to follow. Google will keep all the information under Reader. Fabulous!!!
Another way to sign up to follow me is to receive the post directly to your email account. If you don’t think you will use google reader –this is a perfect option. To do that…
You will just click where it says Subscribe to cleverlyinspired by email….it will come to your email box! Perfect!!
