Tis’ the season right….people in and out, food being served and enjoyed, friends laughing over liquid libations (or maybe from libations…)….Oh the fun! So, to give you some more fabulous ideas…I thought it would be fun to see what else Martha has up her sleeves in her newest book.

Martha's Entertaining: A Year of Celebrations

Here is the book description:

In this exquisite and very personal book, Martha Stewart welcomes you into her world, where she entertains in the expressive and beautiful style that she has made so famous. Whether a simple blueberry breakfast on a Sunday morning in Maine or a more lavish holiday dinner at Bedford, each of the gatherings is equally memorable, for what Martha cherishes above all is spending time and sharing delicious food with her family and friends.

“A meal of substantial finger foods with ingenious cocktails, a sit-down formal dinner, a buffet supper, or something more relaxed such as a backyard barbecue—each is a welcome and inviting way to entertain,” writes Martha. Featuring elegant and casual affairs held throughout the year and a diverse collection of enticing recipes, Martha’s Entertaining shows us—in the broadest and most lovely fashion—what it really means to entertain and host today. From an afternoon Easter egg hunt for children to a festive Halloween dinner held inside her horse stable; from a sophisticated cocktail party on a friend’s yacht in New York Harbor to a spring garden fête amid the most glorious beds of peonies, Martha’s parties offer a glimpse inside her beautiful homes. Each is unforgettable and endlessly inspiring.

So here’s the low down, down low…whatever…you know what I mean…

  20. I will be entertaining for Thanksgiving and possibly for Christmas. Which is funny because I prefer to be be the entertained. When I entertain I get too nervous about whether our guest like my food, have what they want or need instead of enjoying the company. My husband loves to entertain and I'm trying to ease up, enjoy and be a better hostess.

  39. I would love to entertain, but I'm living far from family and dear friends. I'm starting to branch out here more, but with a tiny apartment entertaining is out for a while. But until my hosting days resume I'm a great guest who helps out with any tasks my hostess may need done!

  40. I always feel so inadequate when I entertain – I don't really know why? I mean, I don't expect others to be perfect when they invite me over, why do I feel like I have to be? This definitely puts a cramp in my entertaining style! But I love to be the guest that everyone wants to invite because I help/do/clean and they always want me back! neldacnm at yahoo
