I have never been to Charlie’s Cheeseburgers. My dad made these for us for dinner and sometimes lunch. He called them Charlie’s Cheeseburgers–after a place he went to growing up in Philadelphia. Maybe there is such a place?!?! I really love them—and I am not a burger person really. Emily and Bill made them last week—and I thought that would be a perfect New Meal Monday to share with you all! These are great in the winter when you don’t want to mess with the grill (even though , we are the people that tend to grill even in a blizzard–) Enjoy!

You will need…
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • cheese slices
  • small buns (we use Costco dinner rolls)
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 T butter
Spread butter unto a large griddle. Heat med. high.
Form pattys with the meat and sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.
When griddle is hot, place hamburgers on.
Flip after 4 minutes and let cook.
Cut the rolls in half. Place the onions on top of the hamburgers.
Time for the cchhheeeessseee!
Putter the dog…waiting for his share of cheese “please dad please drop a piece…”
Yummy goodness!!
Be inspired to be clever!
