This post is from last year….thought it was an “oldie but goodie…” In case you missed it the first time around….Also, be sure to sign up for the $50 Shabby Apple giveaway!!!

If you have been following me for awhile….you know I love to change out my mantle to reflect the season. I tweeted a preview pic last weekend….here are a few more pics. I just put this together with things that were around my house. Here is what I came up with….

Remembering summer…
A large stone from a past trip to Mexico….
a big piece of driftwood from the lake last year….
a little footprint in the sand…(yes, I take plaster of paris to the beach…Captial D Dork!)
An old picture of the kids blown up…they were about four in the picture…laughing about the water coming out of the hose…I love this picture :)
Some seashells from trips to the beach along with seagrass and sand.
All these things let us remember past vacations and fun days at the lake:)
These footprints are easy to make and you don’t even need to go to the beach. You can use plain old sandbox sand.
Just make a foot print deep enough to hold some mixed up plaster of paris. Let it set and then pick up the print and gently shake off the sand.
A little baby foot to keep forever :)
I love the carefree days of summer !! And they are almost here!

  3. I love the footprints. My husband who passed away in 1980 loved the poem of footprints in the sand and this brought back a flood of memories. Thanks for sharing.
