I met Ponch one time. We were at the Planet Hollywood in 1995 in DisneyWorld and we got a picture with him. It still makes me laugh out loud when I think about it; my Grammie was star-struck….it was so funny. She framed the picture and had it by her bed—-no lie.
There he is….with his cool leather jacket..I could not find the picture of my Grammie posing with him. No clue where it could be! My brother is on the right sitting down…and my mother in law is on the far left. We were all in awe! Simple pleasures….!
For some odd reason….this chair that I found for $5 at a thrift shop reminded me of Ponch..

I don’t know….it made me think of him interrogating someone…and then getting on his motorcycle…and letting his hair flap around a little…I know, I am strange…but these are the things that take up space in my brain. Just how the good Lord made me I suppose….onto the chair…
it was only $5…and it was in some bad shape….but solid wood!
So I got out my handy dandy Kilz primer…(after I scrubbed it down a bit)
I took off the bottom and back (they had screws holding them in)…
Went to the fabric store and found one yard of Waverly fabric for $3 — BOOYAH!
After the primer was dry I painted it….
This is Putter annoyed that I woke him up with all my loud stapling of fabric… “can’t you do this somewhere else Mother…..”
When recovering…you sometimes leave the fabric on and sometimes take it off. This fabric on this chair was there to stay….and plus it had about 456,900 nails holding it on…no thanks! I covered over and it worked out fine.
Oh, so happy!! No more Ponch…no more ugly mustard/plastic fabric—the chair is SINGING again!! So cute and so happy! Very chic…and shabby and comfy cute!

I met Ponch too, back when I was in college. I was in the Macy's T-Day parade and so was he. Got his autograph and sat with him for awhile. What I remember the most was that he had really big white teeth. :)

I love this! I never could have invisioned something like this coming from a chair like that. Maybe I need to make a trip to good will and get some chairs for my living room.
