This vintage 1940’s telephone reminded me of my Grammie. She used to have one telephone in her house…it was at the desk in her family room….you had to sit at the desk to speak on it and often times there was a timer in front of you so that you didn’t stay on the phone too long “talking long distance”. This may be why I am still to this day fairly quick when it comes to phone calls. She was widowed young…taught herself the stock market and made good for herself and her kids. She was frugal as hell….and she had every reason to be. Seems like we could all use a bit of that wisdom now huh….
