This “sweet” exchange….in front of our Christmas tree…..
“Emily, you said that there wasn’t any ice cream left, but you have half a bowl full…., and you barely left any for me…”
“Conner, there wasn’t enough for two bowls, so I just told you that it was gone. It was gone after I already took my scoops. Get it.”
“Emily, do you think that is lying? Because I think that is lying. Just saying. It’s lying.”
“And LOOK, Putter agrees with me. Good Putter, take some of Emily’s stolen ice cream. Good boy.”
Then there is me….shooting pictures…listening to the debate of the ice cream thief. Snapping away…I turn towards the tree….and I remember….
when they couldn’t talk.
Amen.
Merry Christmas.
I love my tree. And all the fun it brings.
