We had to use up some strawberries….hence strawberry-lemonade! A perfect summertime treat!

Heat 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar–until sugar dissolves. Set aside and cool.

Get yourself some fabulous lemons (we squeezed 6 lemons)

In a blender, combine 3 cups water, 1/2 c sugar and 2 c fresh strawberries. Process until smooth.
Add in cooled syrup, 1T lemon peel, 1 c lemon juice. Stir and enjoy!

1-1/2 cups sugar

4cups water

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled

1 Tbsp. finely shredded lemon peel

1 cup lemon juice (4 to 5 lemons)
directions

1. In a small saucepan combine 1 cup of the sugar and 1 cup of the water; cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool.

2. In a blender combine remaining 3 cups water, 1/2 cup sugar, and the strawberries; process until smooth. Transfer to a 2-quart pitcher; add cooled syrup, lemon peel, and lemon juice. Stir to combine. Fill pitcher with crushed ice. Makes 8, 8-oz. servings.

3.Make-ahead tip: Prepare lemonade but do not add ice. Cover and chill up to 8 hours. Add ice and serve.
