Recently in Midwest Living they listed ten fabulous slow cooker recipes….I was ripping them all out to try! Here is the first one…everyone gave it a 10 in my house. Served with hot brown rice and spinach….it was delicious—and so easy!

You will need
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (about 1-1/2 pounds)
1 8-oz. pkg. fresh button mushrooms, quartered
1 6-oz. pkg. fresh shiitake mushrooms, stems removed, caps sliced
1/4 cup butter
1 0.7-oz. pkg. Italian dry salad dressing mix
1 10-3/4-oz. can condensed golden mushroom soup
1/2 cup dry white wine
1/2 of an 8-oz. tub cream cheese spread with chives and onion
Hot cooked rice or angel hair pasta
melt butter in a saucepan….
add in italian dressing packet
stir in soup , wine and cream cheese until it combines and melts
cut up mushrooms (I used all button…because I had them)
mixture is combined…
place mushrooms on the bottom of slow cooker…top with chicken….pour sauce on top…
close top and cook on low for 5 hours….yummo!!!!

  7. Trend Sage, what about potatoes instead of mushrooms? Maybe the smaller gold or red potatoes, cut into halves or quarters? Or just skim the mushrooms out at the end for him! :)

This one is going on my "too cook" list!

  8. I wonder if this can be done with frozen breasts and just tossing everything into the slow cooker, i dont really see what the benefit is in cooking all those things on the stove first…

  9. Michelle, do you think throwing in the uncooked rice or pasta will be okay too?

foundd your recipe and blog on Pinterest. Made this Angel Chicken for dinner tonight. I did use frozen chicken breasts and just increased the cook time with no trouble at all. I also shredded the chicken in the pot before serving and poured it all over a big plate of angel pasta. My darling husband and youngest son don't care for mushrooms but somehow managed to survive picking them out.
    This was a hit!
Shared it and your blog on my own blog and FB.
    Thank you!
