Hey happy Friday!! Popping in to share this month’s My Miele post:)
Have you ever asked someone how much they paid for their oven? Or maybe their car? Or their coffee maker? I’m guessing no…but I am thinking that you may have asked someone how much they paid for their vacuum. Why is that? What is it about vacuum cleaners? It would make sense to me that whatever you use to clean the air in your home should be equally as important as what you use to cook your food…am I wrong?
Ever since my Miele training….I have a completely different outlook on vacuums. I laugh at the commercials that have the canister with all the confetti popping around. Ohhhhh ahhhhhh….pretty confetti…too bad I could care less about confetti…and more about dust, dirt and dander. And I am hoping that I am bringing some enlightenment to your vacuum purchases in the future.
So what I am asking you to do….when you are considering your next vacuum….do as much research about your purchase as you would do for an oven, fridge or coffee maker. I promise you….if you search down the facts….the only vacuum worth buying is a Miele.
So how much? I know that is what you want to know. And as I stated in my past post, my frugal mind was apprehensive…doubtful….but curious. And my Miele has overcome every doubt I ever had. The S7 Cat and Dog upright retails anywhere from $650 to $700. I would buy it…for sure…twice on Tuesday. It is worth every penny.
Are you still with me? Let me break this down a bit….
Number of years a typical Miele Vacuum cleaner will be of use: 20 years
Cost out of pocket: Anywhere from $250 to $1500 (depending on the model you chose)
Your cost per YEAR for actual clean air in your home: $12.50 to $75 a year which works out to .41 to $2.50 PER MONTH
Now that is something to think about!
There is a Miele for everyone. Every house. And every price point. They are all subjected to the same level of standards. No shortcuts….no matter what machine you buy. My S7 is perfect for our house because I can switch out the HEPA filter for the charcoal filter (which helps to get rid of pet smells). If you are single, and have allergies and are in an apartment…you could get by with the S1 which will take care of an array of surfaces and is compact. Just like my Pure Air blog team….we all have different needs and there was a Miele to fit into each one of our lifestyles.
I would encourage you….to put as much time in research for your vacuum…that you put into planning a party or dinner menu. It will make all the difference in the health of your home.
Here is the Miele Website . I would also suggest that you visit your local vacuum cleaner store. Miele is committed to selling their vacuums in local stores so that those individuals can educate the consumer. Even if you are not ready to buy….just go in and ask questions.
