My powder room is by far the hardest working room in our house. We live on a street with over 50 kids under the age of 12—it is in use constantly! Sometimes–it is one of those rooms that can easily be forgotten. It isn’t very big…the door is usually shut–and hey, it’s a bathroom—just do your business and leave, am I right??
Well, most people comment on my powder room when they visit my house…so I thought I would share with you all…it all started with this light…I found at Lowes..

I thought it was so cute and fun –and unexpected for a powder room. I didn’t want to call in an electrician; so I used the hardwire that was already there and then placed a hook on the ceiling where it would hang from. Love it!
Then there was the ceiling…I fell in LOVE with this wallpaper. But, to do the entire small powder room in this paper—it would have been really overwhelming. So–I decided to just get one roll and put it on the ceiling (I hired out on that ;) And I really love how it is so unexpected and people look up and say–that is so fun! I think so too!
I took the apple green color from the wallpaper and I painted the walls. It really plays well against the black accents (light, counter and wallpaper)
I had a mirror–so I painted it black and handpainted some leaves to resemble the wallpaper. And then for the show stopper—THE SINK!
My honey built a counter top and I painted black high gloss. We found this sink and faucet on ebay and loved it! We did have a plumber install it because the fitting was very specific. (needs to be cleaned ;–sorry!!)
It is a water fall faucet and the kiddos LOVE it!!!
And the room is finished off with a piece of art from TJ Maxx !
