How to make a bar (outdoor)

We have this little space at the lake house right outside the kitchen door. It is a perfect spot to sit and watch…and listen. We don’t have a very large kitchen so this space is perfect for pulling up a stool to eat (and drink ;) We made this super easy bar area about 4 summers ago…it has served us well. It would be great on any deck….not that much material and you can get it finished by Miller time for sure:)

We cut several pieces of treated lumber about 18inches long. Screwed into the railing of the deck. When we had most of the boards secure…we took another pieces of treated wood and secured it underneath (screwing from the top down). This gave the bar more stability. Ours can comfortably fit 4 adults…sometimes we squeeze a couple more in.

I got this cotton tablecloth at Ikea a few years back…along with some heavy duty magnets. I had to cut the tablecloth in half so that it would hang right. Makes it so nice because I can just toss them in the wash..and they are ready for another weekend.
