Rid yourself of magazine clutter with Next app

Hi, my name is Tracie and I am addicted to magazines. I love them. I cannot turn away at the grocery store checkout. I. need. them. Can anyone relate? Even with all the technology available to me…I still have piles and piles of magazines laying around. However, I believe I have found the answer to end the magazine clutter for good. My husband just smiled…next app 2

This app called NEXT is quite simply put. Awesome. All of you favorite magazines….all in one neat place. Let me show you….

cleverlyinspired next app review

Download the app and set up your account. There are 2 plans…$9.99 or $14.99….but when you are a new user they give you a 30 trial period for free. You select the magazines you like…click on it and begin download (which took 4 minutes for my issue of People). You can begin reading while it downloads. I love that you can get back issues too… Some favorite that I added to my library…HGTV magazine, People, Coastal Living, Country Living, Cooking Light, Southern Living, Better Homes and Gardens….I could go on…:) I found all of my favorites. And my hubs loved Golf Digest and Sports Illustrated…

Each magazine is digital (obviously..) and comes with lots of bells and whistles. For example, the latest issue of People….where they have “soundtrack of the week” you can click on it and listen. Or the top rated movie of the week….watch the preview right there while you are reading about it. Amazingballs. A truly interactive reading experience. How flipping cool is that?!?!

Over 90 titles from top publishers….I am positive you will find all your favorites! Be sure to connect on Facebook…you can preview some issues for free (for ipad users who sign up with Facebook sign in)

This app is so easy to use…you will wonder how you got along without it. Go forth and clean out those baskets full of magazines….:)

And start collecting some fun ideas….digitally ;)next app

Tips for making a guest feel at home with hello products

This article is sponsored by hello™ and I have been compensated for my time in writing this review. I was given product to review. However, all opinions and thoughts are 100% mine own.

guest (9)

I have been telling you all about our new guest room in the basement. It is really turning into a fun little space. I love that I can dress it up a bit and make it special for our guest who stay here. As I have been going about “organizing” the space….I have tried to think up some useful tips and hints for creating a space that is pretty, useful and tidy for our guest. Here are some things that may help you the next time you have guest coming….

1. Think of the space as if you were the guest. What do you need right when you walk in the space. A place to set you luggage…along with a convenient spot to put things is really nice to have.

2. Toiletries and essentials. These fun bright products from hello are just the right pop of fun for a guest room. They have mouthwash, breath spray and toothpaste and brushes all in super fun colors. You guest will feel like they are getting the royal treatment!

hello’s the first line of seriously friendly oral care. The products debuted in March 2013, so they’re still brand new, and the brand promises a friendly mouth – healthy, white teeth, fresh breath and a clean, moisturized mouth – without artificial sweeteners, dyes or alcohol. The products debuted in beautiful design solutions from BMW DesignworksUSA, and feature a curvy, beautiful look that you won’t want to bury under the sink.

All the products are made in the USA using naturally derived ingredients wherever possible, while delivering the experience people want. Never tested on animals. Flavors include supermint, pink grapefruit mint, mojito mint, and sweet cinnamint.

3. Lots of soft spaces to land. Our guest room is really tight. So if our guest wants to chill out on their own to regroup a bit…they will be using the bed. Lots of blankets and pillows make it comfy and relaxing.

4. A place to get ready. Since our bathroom is located in the basement…but on the other side….our guest will have to have hair/makeup essentials available in the room. A nice surface free of clutter along with a mirror makes it easy for them to spread out their own things.

5. Charge up. An outlet by the bed makes it easy for the guest to charge up electronics and also have a place for them to land at night.

6. Lights. Since our guest room is in the basement…we needed plenty of overhead and task lighting. A few bedside lamps along with some recessed lighting is perfect.

7. Downtime. Providing current magazines and a few books is a nice touch and will make any guest feel right at home.

8. Midnight snack. A few bottles of water along with some snack size nuts, gum and mints are like a free mini-bar!

9. Furnishings that are cozy. When you are away from home…you miss your own bed the most! It is nice to have luxurious bedding and blankets that make a guest feel extra special.

guest (12)

10. Don’t forget the bathroom. Think like you guest and be sure and provide shampoo, conditioner and soap…along with other travel size items incase they forgot something. I really love this line from hello…tons of style…and function. Win win!

A bit more about hello products:

Dream Kitchens

We are waiting for our fridge to die. Did that sound morbid? I’m sorry…but it is true. It hums and purrs and squeaks….just waiting I tell ya. New appliances are always a treat. Like a new car. Those are two smells I love…new car smell and new fridge smell. Sometimes….I go to Lowes just to smell the fridges. Yes, I have issues. You know this already…am I right? Moving on…

When we built our house about 9 years ago we put in all stainless steel appliances. I love having the same cohesive look. Electrolux caters to this with their Suite design plans. They encourage buyers to create a seamless and complimentary look with their appliance selections. They are sleek and stylish…and also make things super easy in the kitchen because of their professional standards. Electrolux offers matching suites of refrigerators, induction cooktops and dishwashers. They offer some really great ideas for your kitchen on their pinterest board.

I think a favorite of mine is the French Door bottom mount refrigerator. I am sure it doesn’t hum like my current one :) I love the fact that it serves up food at the ideal temperature (even wine my friends, even wine….;) The counter depth is very appealing to me also. It would save us about 6 inches of space…and in a tight kitchen that is a ton! (see below how the fridge is like in the middle of the kitchen…. exaggeration…yes…but when you are sitting at the bar stool there is it super annoying….) oy….

Cleaning off the vintage door: Fish Foam

I recently showed you the fabulous upcycle with this old wooden door by making it into a gift wrap center. You can find similar windows and doors at flea markets and thrift shops. They will always require a bit of TLC and cleaning up. To make my door shine again I used some hot soapy water…and my favorite glass cleaner Fish Foam.

fishfoam

Hot soapy water did great at getting off all the dirt and grim. I used Fish Foam to give the door a brand new shine.  It sprays on foaming and goes right to work leaving glass perfect and streak free. A great tool to use at Spring cleaning time! Dare I say….it is actually kind of fun to use;) You can order online and have it delivered to your door….it last a long time too!

You can find out more about Fish Foam on their website.

Be sure to join me on Facebook. I am going to be sending someone a can to try for free!

Fish Foam makes cleaning windows easier. The multi-use, drip-free, professional grade formula has impressed buyers nationwide with both home and car use. It is all-weather and ammonia-free, and it immediately goes to work and doesn’t leave streaks or a haze. Ordering online is safe and secure and Fish Foam is delivered to your door.

Tomorrow I will be sharing my office/craft room….don’t miss it!
