Foyer is complete

OK….last Foyer post I promise!!! Just wanted you to see a few of the items we decided on keeping up….
I found some great old objects around town…

all this old shutter needed was a good cleaning….found at a local Architectural salvage…

A new table from TJ Maxx…we love the antiqued look of it….the lamp is going to be replaced…working on that :) The pictures on the wall were there before…but switched places.

It looks so new again! The window that became a picture frame is a favorite!

We are really loving the way it turned out!
The color on the walls in Light French Grey by Behr
The ceiling is Reflecting Pool by Behr (home depot)
Next up…the library…;)

Oh Joy!!! New treads!!

Recently I told you about Putter…the 9 year old Golden….that we love dearly….but he hated our shiny new stairs…see the post here
He has stumbled a few times coming down the stairs…so we ordered some fabulous treads…
I know! Aren’t they awesome!

They are from Natural Area Rugs . …

I am placing some carpet tape on both sides to hold it in place….

I love how you can see and appreciate the wood stair (that I poured my heart into…!!)

Now that Putter doesn’t have to worry about coming up and down the stairs now he can get onto more important things…like well, sleeping I guess…..and then eating…and then sleeping some more. Must be nice to be a Golden Retriever.
Fabulous giveaway coming up today at noon….you won’t want to miss!!!

Trim coming along…

We worked this past weekend on the foyer….we are LOVING it so far!!! FYI…to see original post it is here…all credit for this idea goes to Centsational Girl
My cute trim carpenter….hard at work…
He keeps in pencil handy….on his ballcap….a good tip I thought I should share…

Lookin good right?!?! Loving it!

Me using the brad-nail…Emily was laughing…hence the picture shaking….

As we were working in this room we noticed a light plate that we must have roughed in when we built. We have lived here 7 years in May…totally forgot about this light rough in. It was like we discovered gold! So excited to have more light in the hallway….so of course…I went out and bought a light!
Perfect for highlighting some art on the wall!!
My “storyboard”….I know I am a dork ;)

Is it possible to love a light too much? Guilty!! (cue goofy laugh…)

It is like our house always wanted this board and batten trim–and it is singing!

It is the little things in life that should make you the happiest…right!?! Life is way to short to not appreciate those little things…stop and look around…or you may just miss it (thanks Ferris B for that line) All that from a little light ;)

The Foyer—a work in progress….

You all know how it goes….you make something in a room look sooooo much better…
Other things in that room that haven’t been touched in 7 years…start to bother you ….endless cycle…
So we ( and by we–I really mean ME)—we started to think of some ways to update this space.
over the red….loved it 7 years ago….

I started seeing things “lightened” up a bit….
I saw this on  Centsational Girl….and I sort of fell-in-LOOVEEE…..

The look is so timeless, classic and simple—and really goes perfectly with our colonial house. I love it! Also, the beautiful white against the creamy walls—just lovely. And it is handy–with those stylish hooks–love it! Did I mention that I LOVE IT….
So guess what we did this past weekend???
Hmmmm…what paint should I choose…such possibility!
Really loving Light french gray so far….

My honey…getting started on the trim….he loves a good project like this. Instant gratification!
Will be showing our progress soon…..
Oh…and I found a new light….
So excited :)
