5 for the road….

Hey hey…happy FriYay!!! Looking forward to a great weekend…hoping to get the outdoor furniture polished off a bit and enjoy some outdoor time. Love me some vitamin D!

The pups are getting used to one floor living….they see it as an open invitation any time to just come and sit outside our doors….just waiting for the next opportunity to get some love. Since my hubs wakes up at 5:30 everyday…the pups were hearing his alarm and then would proceed to sit outside our door and whine until he would open it. Me no likey…me no likey at all… #notamorningpersonATALL . So I researched some doggie gates and found this awesome tutorial at yellowbrickhome…forwarded to my dad and tada! Doggie gate…with class:) Now, the pups wait for Bill to wake up…and they are NOT waking me up:) winner…

My parents are going to be going down in late April to help us. My dad has used a paint sprayer before and so he will be priming and painting the ceiling and walls. So excited!!

Every morning I wake up at the beach….a live feed from Carolina Beach:) Check this out…I have been enjoying a late sunrise over the ocean….

Printing out this list for the 3rd time….we have completed this list as a family at the dinner table when the kids were probably 8…and then again at 12 or so. It is a great conversation starter and allows them to learn some things about you too. The link on the post will allow you to print out your own set and keep it on the table….

I made some of these sweet teacup bird feeders a few weeks ago. We were so excited when some birds started to use it and see it actually worked! It held up great in the cold…until it rained one night….and I found the saucer on the ground….insert really sad face here…boooo. I am going to try again with some white gorilla glue and test those results. I used E6000 the first time…apparently that is not water proof….I will let you know how the gorilla glue holds up:)cleverlyinspired teacup birdfeeder

Have a great weekend friends!

5 for the road: I’m ready for some football

I am ready…are you ready? Is there anything better than projecting in the garage, hot coffee in hand…on a crisp fall day with football on the radio in the background? I think not. I couldn’t live in a city that doesn’t have a Fall. It is probably my favorite:) This weekend we are going to a large college fair on Saturday…apparently I have 2 kids that are headed to college in 1.5 years….that’s what people tell me—I may or may not be in complete denial. Hope you have a fun productive weekend planned….wanted to pop in and share a few fun finds.….

5 for the road: shop small

I walked out this morning and FALL was here! Whoot! I actually needed a sweatshirt! I am sure it is not here to stay yet….but I so enjoyed it this morning. I have been busy this week working on a few design jobs. On Wednesday I spent some time with a new client….she just moved into a smaller home and was having trouble figuring out how to display a few things. I was able to “shop her house” for everything I needed to make her bookshelves look less “showroom” and more lived in. I had a ball looking through her treasures and displaying them artfully.

Wanted to share with you a few great finds that I have found lately. Have you heard of Clayton and Crume? They are a local Louisville leather artisan. If you are searching for a perfect man gift….look no further. Clayton (who is one of the owners and leather artist) is the son of my builder friend Mark Simpson. I am in awe of the work Clayton creates. Check out their website this weekend and order your Christmas gifts early because they make everything by hand with amazing attention to detail.

5 for the road: back in action

Been a busy week here! I had a few design appointments… started to work on the bubs “new” room annnnddd best of all ….found a cheap flight so flying to the beach tomorrow with my honey! We wanted to get one little last bite of summer before we brought Chloe home on September 9th. I have been busy nesting for the puppy and I’m so excited! Stella is going to be so excited to have a little sister. She told me….Yeah I probably been inhaling too much polyurethane. anywho…I cannot wait for puppy breath!!!Fullscreen capture 8182016 25525 PM

I made a really good chicken pot pie this week with a homemade cream of soup base that I’m excited to share with you next week. So easy and none of that canned sodium stuff….

I’m also going to put together a video on my wood wall “headboard” that I completed in about an hour!! I am so thrilled with how it turned out… best part about this headboard is it was paid for with the basketball wall hanging that I sold on Facebook so it was basically free. I love a good deal like that!

My dad is going to build the floating side shelves for me….I am loving how his room is shaping up:) and so is he:)

I will be sharing a few new things at the beach house this weekend…so check in and see how the rec room space is shaping up.

Hope you have a great weekend!

5 for the road on a Tuesday

Well…I made it! What a month I have had with Homearama!! It was such a joy to meet those of you that came out and introduced yourselves and told me what a fan you are of my little bitty blog. I feel so ready to get back into the writer’s seat and start creating again.
