Quickly Iron a Large Tablecloth

Hey yall! Happy Friday! This post is off the charts exciting….like sit down….grab a towel to bite…and just brace yourself. How to iron a tablecloth. I know right!?! But…if you are needing to iron a big tablecloth…like maybe for a holiday party or dinner….you may want to read this post…for real this works….and you will feel so smart:) I’m here to help….

Ironing a large tablecloth is almost as fun as going to the dentist….am I right? It is so big…so long…and by the time I get through half of it I am ready to just call it quits! But I found this tip in a magazine and I thought….that is genius! So remember this or pin it for the next time you have to dress your table.

I took these pictures super quick with my phone….so sorry about that:)

My tablecloth was brand new….so it had all those creases that are so stubborn. No amount of ironing was going to get those creases out.

Here is the trick: Place a very damp dishcloth in the dryer along with the the tablecloth (no, I didn’t wash the tablecloth. The tablecloth was fresh out of the package). Dry on high heat for about 15 minutes…..

Place a large sheet on the table….then place the tablecloth on top. Smooth out with your hands as best as you can. Take a iron on medium heat (as to not damage your table) and smooth over the tablecloth. Moving the iron quickly and pull and smooth tablecloth as you go.

This process took less than half the time it normally would take. I hope it saves you some time too!!
