We are narrowing down choices for “operation front door”….we-take-forvever-on-some-projects…oy! I briefly told you about our long term plans for the front of the house…in this post…We have decided to go ahead and change the door out first.

What we have now is a single door with sidelights on both sides. What we are wanting is 2 doors with 3/4 lite and a single panel below…it will be measured professionally this week to see if we will be able to fit the doors we have chosen.

Basically there are 3 kinds of doors…solid wood, fiberglass and steel. Wood is not the best choice for the area we live. Too many moisture issues..and wood rot is a sure bet. Steel doors are not the most aesthetically pleasing…plus…they get super hot. And our front door gets a bunch of direct sunlight.

So we are looking at fiberglass doors that have a “Stainable” front to mimic wood. Best part is…you can save almost $400 when you ask for the doors to be unfinished…which means you can chose your own stain or paint!

Here are some fun inspiration pictures to give you a clearer idea of what we are wanting ours to look like….

Hopefully the next time I update you I will be showing you pics of our new doors :) We should be able to order them today! Have a great weekend friends..
