After 4 hours…take chicken out. Cover, set aside. combine 1 T cornstarch with 1/2 T water…mix and stir into slow cooker. You can place the chicken back in after 5 minutes. (Feel free to cut it up first and dump it back in….or leave whole…doesn’t really matter). Keep on low until ready to serve. Pairs great with green beans and rice :)

  1. Cant wait to try..l have everything but the onions right now. the beginning of your recipe says 4 hours but the recipe “list” says 5. Am I missing something?

  3. This was amazing! I added a layer of fresh veggies to the bottom of the crock~broccoli, mushroom and red onion. Made exactly as written except used boneless skinless breasts (and didn’t have green onions) and cooked on high for 6 hours, stirring around the 5 hour mark to get chicken fully submerged (used 10!). Will make again but with thighs next time! The veggies were a nice addition and were done to perfection.

  9. I made this over the weekend becausevit lookec soooo yummy. But when I tasted the sauce it seemed like it needed a little extra zing! So I made following changes. I added a tablespoon of sesame seed oil in place of one of the canola oil. I then added 2 – 3 teaspoons of grated fresh ginger. Now…. That one delicious Chinese chicken.

    1. So glad you liked it and thanks for the yummy suggestions!
