Celebrate with Martha’s American Food Cookbook: Giveaway

It’s just all red, white and blue this week…and I love it! Growing up, the fourth of July was filled with food, festivities, fireworks and fun! Now that summer is in full swing I thought it would be a great time to do another giveaway. I don’t have this cookbook yet…but it’s on my list. So you get to tell me what you think…I’m going to let you have it first! 51afcGl48dL__BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-sticker-arrow-click,TopRight,35,-76_AA300_SH20_OU01_

In this beautiful volume, a love letter to American food, Martha Stewart, who has so significantly influenced the American table, collects her most favorite national dishes, as well as the stories and traditions behind them. These are recipes that will delight you with nostalgia, inspire you, and teach you about our nation by way of its regions and their distinctive flavors. Above all, these are time-honored recipes that you will turn to again and again.
Organized geographically, the 200 recipes in Martha’s American Food include main dishes such as comforting Chicken Pot Pies, easy Grilled Fish Tacos, irresistible Barbecued Ribs, and hearty New England Clam Chowder. Here, too, are thoroughly modern starters, sides, and one-dish meals that harness the bounty of each region’s seasons and landscape: Hot Crab Dip, Tequila-Grilled Shrimp, Indiana Succotash, Chicken and Andouille Gumbo, Grilled Bacon-Wrapped Whitefish, and Whole-Wheat Spaghetti with Meyer Lemon, Arugula, and Pistachios. And you will want to leave room for dessert, with dozens of treats such as Chocolate-Bourbon Pecan Pie, New York Cheesecake, and Peach and Berry Cobbler.  (per Amazon)

I’ll be spending the holiday with family and friends, hopefully doing a little sailing (weather permitting), BBQ, fireworks and flares around the lake. We’ll probably end the evening with wine and smores around the fire pit.

I have a sister who has a birthday on the 4th of July. We usually gather with my parents and my sister and her family at my parents club or their condo (pool at both locations). Then we have a small family gathering with burgers and brats at the grill.

Happy 4th of July to you and your family! We are going to be grilling out, unfortunately TN is so dry right now, our county has banned fireworks for tomorrow or else we have to pay a fine. Spending time with the family and my fiance is what’s most important. Love this giveaway, just got engaged, so of course I’m looking for recipes and such to cook up for my fiance! Thank you for giving this giveaway you are too sweet! Good luck to everyone who has entered this giveaway!

Having a small get together. My 7 year old son looks forward to the 4th of July all year long. We try to have our family come up and have a camp over. He has a special “salad” he is making. Then we will watch the fireworks. To him it is so special to have “family” around for the holiday. We started today with Rhubarb Pie…. yum yum
