Our Golden Retriever Putter was really missing the carpet….

and NOT loving our shiny newly redone stairs….

It’s good thing he’s cute…otherwise I would be really annoyed….
He really is a good dog….I felt bad when he tumbled down the last few stairs one morning. (secretly thinking–wonder if he just scratched my new stairs…I’m only human people…)

I found these sisal tread runners on http://www.naturalarearugs.com/ and I liked them because they still showed plenty of the pretty steps—but were safe for Putter. Waiting on them to arrive!! Until then—Putter will be a first floor dog…he seems ok with that for now…
Happy Dog again!

  2. I just started following you, love the stairs but wondered about slipping. My friend did hardwood on her stairs and took a good tumble with a laundry basket in her hands. I like the idea of adding the runner – it'll look classy as can be.

Awww poor doggie! I'm glad you're not covering up too much of those gorgeous stairs. I really like the treads you picked out!
